GlacierWorks:

GlacierWorks is an innovative collaboration between mountaineer David Breashears and xRez Studio to document, visualize, and analyze the current state of Himalayan glaciers. Breashears and his team are re-tracing the routes of mountain photographers from decades ago in order to document the current snow and ice extent from identical locations. This effort offers a unique dataset, as many of these locations are accessible only to highly skilled climbers.

I have linked to the xRez Studio webpage, which they title “Climate Change on a Gigapixel.” Click an image to view the full screen zoom, which offers incredible detail of the Himalaya mountains.

One can also compare the original photos from decades ago with the recent photos taken on GlacierWorks expeditions by clicking on the names of different glacier regions here:
